Privacy policy

I want to make my apps possibly transparent and safe to use, so there you can read about data storage and the way it works.

Please note, that below information applies only to the newest available app version.

Which data of mine is collected?

All source code created by me which is included in my apps, is never collecting any personal data. Of course you can input values that might include personal data, but Lessons do not require it. There are basically five types of information stored by Lessons:

  1. Preferences – information about user settings.
  2. Information for optimization purposes – simple data about for example recently used screen, recently chosen option or recently imputed values. That information is used to prompt further actions.
  3. Data inputted by user – this is data such as calculations elements, local profiles names and other values that can be inputted by the user.
  4. Temporary files – files such as icons, list elements and such like. This information is defined by the way the Android system works, and you can erase it in app management in system settings.
  5. Lesson plan sharing – online app feature that allows to share their plan with other app users. This module is optional and will be activated only if you choose to use plan sharing. You can also share a plan as a picture without using online plan sharing.

Where is app data stored?

1-4 data types are stored locally on your device. You can delete it at any moment.
The 5th data type is stored on Google Firebase cloud service and is not shared with 3rd parties. If you decide to share your lesson plan it will be associated with a 4-digit code, that will allow anyone knowing this code to download your plan to their Lessons app. Code is valid for 10 minutes, but you can stop sharing before that time passes. When you manually stop sharing, your data will be deleted immediately and if you don’t choose to stop sharing it will be deleted after code expiration by the nearest server cleaning. Lessons plan contains only data imputed by the user which are: lesson plan with durations and subjects information (name, classroom, teacher, accent color). You are deciding which data you are sharing. Users that are importing your lesson plan will be able to save it to their app, use it and resend it to someone else even after you stop sharing.

The above statements apply to a part of the source code of my apps that I created. However I produce my apps within an MIT App Inventor 2 companion – Kodular. Some of my apps may contain created by community extensions (you can learn more about each one in app settings). Those products may have their own privacy policy. You can become acquainted with Kodular policy in the link below. Lessons module – Plan sharing is using Google Firebase technology to provide web services.
